Christoph Wulf

The coordinating professor Christoph Wulf is a member of the “INTER-ART” Graduate School as well as of the “Cultures of Performance” Collaborative Research Centre and of the “Languages of Emotion” Centre of Excellence at that same university. He is the founder and vice-chairman of the Society for Historical Anthropology. He is a founding member of the Commission on Educational Anthropology of the German Society for Educational Science, vice-president of the UNESCO commission in Germany, a member of the Conseil scientifique of the Institut National de Recherche Pédagogique (Paris/Lyon) and a member of the International Research Centre for Cultural Sciences (Vienna). He has enjoyed guest professorships in the USA, the Netherlands, the UK, Sweden, Italy, Austria, France, India, Brazil and Japan. He is responsible for the Erasmus partnership with more than 40 universities at the Department of Educational Science and Psychology. German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Christoph Wulf has coordinated the exchange of PhD Students with the TATA Institute for Social Science, Mumbai (2009-2010), and has supervised more than fifteen PhD Students from China, Japan, France, Italy, Greece, Spain and other countries over the last 5 years. He has organized joint conferences and research projects with Kyoto University Japan, University of California Irvine, London Institute of Education, University of Göteborg and University of Stockholm. He also has organized joint workshops all over the last 6 years with Arabic universities with publication of results in Arabic and German (4 volumes) and one more joint workshop in cooperation with the State University of St. Petersburg (2009), as well as a joint symposium with the University of Beijing (2009, results published in Chinese/in press, 2011). He has edited more than 60 collective volumes and journal special issues and his books have been translated in more than 10 languages.
